Refrigerant recycling services are at the core of our commitment to environmental responsibility. These services are designed to efficiently and safely handle used refrigerants and refrigeration systems, ensuring they are repurposed or disposed of in an eco-friendly manner.
Before delving into the specifics of refrigerant recycling, it’s essential to understand the lifecycle of a refrigeration system. A typical refrigeration system consists of various components that work together to cool or heat a space. These components include refrigerants, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and more.
Throughout its lifespan, a refrigeration system may need maintenance, repair, or even replacement. When the time comes to retire an old system, it’s essential to address the refrigerant properly to ensure it doesn’t harm the environment.
Empty recovery cylinders play a crucial role in the refrigerant recycling process. They are used to collect and store used refrigerants before they undergo recycling or disposal. Ensuring that these cylinders are properly handled and maintained is an important aspect of responsible refrigerant recycling.
One of the challenges in refrigerant recycling is dealing with mixed refrigerants. In some cases, different refrigerants may be mixed in the same system, making the recycling process more complex. It’s essential to have the expertise and equipment to separate and recycle these mixed refrigerants effectively.
Air conditioning systems rely on refrigerants to facilitate the transfer of heat, making the cooling process possible. Over the years, various types of AC refrigerants have been developed and utilized. Historically, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) like R-12 were widely used, but due to their adverse impact on the ozone layer, they were phased out in favor of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) such as R-22. However, R-22, commonly known as Freon, is also being phased out because of its ozone-depleting properties.
In recent times, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) like R-410A and R-134a have gained prominence as they don’t harm the ozone layer. As concerns over global warming grow, there is an increasing shift towards environmentally-friendly refrigerants, such as hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs), and natural refrigerants like CO2 and hydrocarbons.
Refrigerants are generally safe when contained within the closed system of an AC unit. However, if they leak or are improperly handled, they can pose significant risks. Exposure to these chemicals can cause a range of health issues, including respiratory distress, skin irritation, and, in severe cases, organ damage or asphyxiation.

Lees is one of they places that says what they do and does what they say. What they quoted was exactly what they charged. Unlike contractors that nickel and dime you tell you they are only charging what they do. Lees charged what they said. They even deducted the cost of the work estimate. The plumbing specialist Sean was very knowledgeable and courteous. The only negative as they move the work date twice and ultimately it was a day later that the original date. I would definitely use them again.
The service was fast and Rueben and Peter worked extra hours just to help us, as we were on the emergency wait list. They arrived, got to work and solved the problem. In no time everything was working again! So appreciative. Thank you!!
Great service and technicians. Used them in the past and will continue.
